Arico stretches from the coast up through dry hillsides and vineyards that belong to the Abona wine area. Some of the best guachinches in the south are here, serving small plates, grilled meat and local wine in simple, homely rooms.
You'll find them at different heights, between the vines and down near the shore, and from some of them you can see the sea while you eat.
Arico is a good place to see why guachinches matter so much to Canarian food culture. Leave the motorway and go and find one.
